Ta Lai Longhouse Viet namWhat to experience?

The company Viet Adventure has been organizing sport events in Viet Nam for the past 10 years; they are now organizing Team Building programmes, nature school trips and a tourist tour focusing on the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside to raise awareness about nature protection.

Perched on top of a hill, above a lake, on the border of Cat Tien National Park, the Tai Lai traditional bamboo longhouse offers a typical shelter in the rainforest wilderness, in Ta Lai Minority Village and a unique experience via an immersion in local architecture, culture and way of living. Get the real jungle experience while getting closer to local traditions, take time to speak and interact with local staff and learn more about the Tai Lai Commune, their traditions and customs.

Go trekking with a trained local guide, spot wildlife. Activities such as canoeing, mountain biking, bird watching, etc in the National Park are being developed as part of a stay at the Tai Lai Longhouse. During your meals you will taste food grown locally in a community organic garden.

How does it help?

Ta Lai Longhouse Viet nam

Organic garden

Viet Adventure, in collaboration with WWF and the cooperative group from the commune of Ta Lai is developing eco-tourism in this minority village of Cat Tien’s National Park area. They commit to making a positive contribution to the community by investing in local sustainable development and environmental projects.

The Ta Lai Longhouse is managed in collaboration with the people from the Ma, S’tieng, and Tay communities.  A business plan was prepared with the communities to outline environmental ethics and practices, and how economic benefits will be shared with them. Local community groups are always involved in decision-making, empowering them for their own development, and as they know their land the best, they are key counsellors in every decision.

The local people have been trained by WWF in cooking, English language, hospitality, and environmental management. Viet Adventure participates in a reforestation and agro-forestry programme led by WWF.

A community organic garden is being developed and will grow a variety of fruit, vegetables, and herbs. Recycling, using environmental friendly furniture, building with traditional architecture and sustainable building materials, respecting the biodiversity and minimising the impact on the natural surroundings (water supply and sewage, energy source, waste management, etc.) are some of the practices they wish to disseminate.

They can then be spread around these local communities and, most importantly school trips, team building and adventure tour activities will promote the Tai Lai minority village, its entire area and raise concern towards its protection.
