The restaurant has a friendly atmosphere and fair priced dishes. You can order a range of local and central Thai specialties, including healthy selections from the restaurant’s organic garden. Ask the waitresses to recommend a seasonal specialty, to taste the finest, freshest local flavours.
They even developed a special menu to help reduce climate change… heat is limited to the chillies!
Love for the area and a strong sense of community have also inspired the Chomtalay team to create information and special activities for guests. You may join in their regular social and environmental initiatives: sprucing up the local community, donating to temples and schools, planting mangroves or releasing fish into the sea!
All of these activities help to build up an appetite for a relaxing and delicious seafood dinner, enjoyed while you admire the long, beautiful, quiet, clean beach, in this laid-back resort.

How does it help ?
Only half an hour from Hua Hin, Samroiyod still feels relaxed and local. However, as with all Thai beach resorts, there is always a risk of overdevelopment and negative impacts from tourism…
Owner, Khun Prapasson, led the establishment of the “Samroiyod Conservation Club”, a local community organisation dedicated to conserving natural resources and local tourist attractions.
The team have coordinated local community participation in global activities to promote and protect the environment since 2004, including Clean Up The World Day, World Environment Day and World Wetlands Day. Activities include regular beach clean-ups, and releasing fish, prawns, crabs and turtles back into the sea, which protects their numbers, and supports local fisheries.
Inside the restaurant, staffs actively apply the training they have received on environmental issues. Waste is separated and recycled, water and grease are managed, and compost is produced from food scraps. The team reduces global warming by planting trees, turning off A/C., using energy efficient lighting and transparent roof tiles, gentle signage and buying as much food as possible from the local market.
Socially, the team make annual donations of $2000 – $3000 USD, spread around 5 local temples and 3 local schools, and provide lunch to the local senior citizens’ society every year. Over 80% of staff are from the local community, and have proper welfare. They receive training in tourism, health and safety, and are able to stay close to their families. The resort / restaurant allows local community members to sell local products in a special area, without taking any commission.
